Wrap Up for a Wild Winter Weekend in Morzine

Morzine is a terrific destination for a wild weekend spent skiing all day and partying all night. If you and your friends only have a few days to get your winter groove on, follow this itinerary to make the most of your trip.

About Morzine

For a weekend get-away, Morzine is your perfect destination. As part of the Portes du Soleil resort, it boasts over 400 miles of slopes and caters to skiers of all abilities. Not only that, it’s quick and easy to get to! Just a 75-minute drive away from Geneva airport, you can get a transfer from Geneva to Morzine and be on the slopes in no time.
Your Weekend Itinerary

Day One: Get the Nyon cable car then the La Pointe lift to the Pointe de Nyon. The pistes there are wide and usually empty, so it’s a great place to race your friends. After lunch, travel to Switzerland and tackle the Mossettes mountains. Take the Prodains Express gondola to Avoriaz, then the Chavenette lift to Les Crosets and finally the Grand-Conche lift to Mossettes. It may sound like a bit of a trek, but it’s an easy journey that’s worth the effort. There are brilliant blue and red runs for you to glide down.

Day Two: Travel from Champoussin to Les Morgins for the best ski routes in the area. These pistes are a little narrow but perfectly suitable for both experienced skiers and beginners. In the afternoon, end your holiday with a bang at Les Stash snow park (accessible via the Les Lindarets lift). You and your friends can practice your gnarly stunts on the park’s bumps and rails.
The Après Ski Scene

• Pre-drinks

Morzine has a brilliant and lively nightlife. For pre-drinks, I’d recommend either Coyote Bar or Le Cavern. While the first has great drink deals, as well as pool tables, air hockey and bowling lanes, Le Cavern regularly hosts live bands that will get you hyped for the night ahead.

• Nightclubs

Day One: Head over to Le Paradis in the old town’s centre. Its ambiance is like no other, with faux leopard print chairs and a ‘Saturday Night Fever’ themed dance floor. They also have terrific live DJs who will keep you dancing until dawn.

Day Two: Make your second night even more memorable at L’Opéra. Blasting out house, techno and D&B tunes, they host a brilliant range of theme nights. What could be better than partying with your friends to cheesy music in an improvised fancy dress costume until 5am?

How to Get There

The fastest way of getting to Morzine is to fly to Geneva airport. Swiss, easyJet and Flybe all offer direct one-and-a-half hour flights from London starting from extremely tempting prices. Getting from Geneva to Morzine is then quick and easy with Shuttle Direct. Book a shared, group or private transfer via their easy-to-use website and a friendly driver will meet you outside the terminal. The journey from Geneva to Morzine takes just over an hour, so you’ll be enjoying the snow in no time!
