Milan, February 3rd, 2014 – APCOA PARKING Italy and SEA (SEA – Società Esercizi Aeroportuali S.p.A., Milan ) have jointly won the tender for managing parking at Bergamo Airport. The contract period is the 1st of February 2014 until the 31st of January 2020.
The management contract comprises more than 7,000 parking spaces at the Bergamo (Lombardy) Airport. The co-operation of SEA and APCOA is the result of the emphasis SACBO (the owner of the Airport of Bergamo) has put on the necessity to modernize the airport“s parking facilities and increase their functionality. Under the specific terms of the co-operation SEA S.p.A. will be providing the financial management, and making a series of investments to improve the quality of service; particularly in the areas of technological innovation and safety. APCOA PARKING Italy will be responsible for the operational management of the car parks and of customer relationship.
Among the technical improvements for the benefit of Bergamo Airport customers will be an e-commerce platform for parking reservation and on line payments. Another major innovation is the Telepass payment system. The electronic toll system allows customers paying automatically without getting off the car, and having the parking fees due debited from their bank accounts at the end of the month.
Bergamo Airport owner SACBO under the new contract has retained its authority to set tariffs and charges for parking services.
